Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, with its emphasis on grappling and ground fighting, is a very particular martial art, requiring a very particular set of skills and disciplines.

Unsurprisingly, such a 'particular' martial art also calls for a very particular gi. The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gi, or competition kimono as it is more often known in Brazil, is pre-shrunk and are made from a complete piece of single-weave fabric. The gi also has a hygienic rubber lapel that provides lightness and faster drying.
